Discover Tasmania’s North West Coast
Rocky Cape is ideally positioned on Tasmania’s beautiful North West Coast, between Wynyard and Stanley, making it a wonderful base for exploring the region. Wynyard is around 25 minutes away, while the historic seaside town of Stanley and its iconic Nut are approximately 30 minutes in the other direction.
Nearby, you’ll also find the beautiful coastal communities of Boat Harbour Beach and Sisters Beach, known for their stunning scenery, beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere, with live music adding to the laid-back coastal feel.
Right on your doorstep, Rocky Cape National Park offers rugged coastline, secluded beaches and scenic walking trails — perfect for discovering some of the natural beauty that makes this part of Tasmania so special.
Explore a little further
Continue west towards Smithton and you’ll find yourself at the gateway to Tasmania’s spectacular far north-west and the Tarkine, home to ancient rainforest, wild rivers, dramatic coastline and some of the state’s most remarkable untouched landscapes.
Or make a day of it and venture inland to Cradle Mountain, one of Tasmania’s most iconic destinations and a memorable day trip from Rocky Cape.
Taste the North West
The North West Coast is also home to some of Tasmania’s wonderful local produce and food experiences, with fresh seafood, farm-grown produce, artisan cheeses, locally made treats, cafés and markets to discover throughout the region. It’s a beautiful part of Tasmania to explore — and an especially good one to explore with an appetite.
